THE THREAD STYLE SERIES Tread with Fushu

Ever since my college days in UP-Cebu, I have worn the easiest (and cheapest) of slip-ons. Since laced shoes make my outfits look a bit “sporty & heavy”, them slip-ons walk with me easily & lightly, as if I’m wearing nothing at all.

I thought nothing could come easier to walk in. Then comes FUSHU. I got a hold on my first-ever pair last December when my friend, bag decorator, Kieth Bitor, brought me to the Christmas bazaar at I.T. Park and gifted me a pair as a Christmas present. I’ve heard of expensive slip-ons and espadrilles from Blenn before, but this was just reachable! And how their nude flat soles weakened me made me an official fan. Effortless is ze wurd! Yes, it’s casual alright but the patterns and designs are a bonus!

Last July 14, Formo & Bailey’s launched THE THREAD STYLE SERIES* by “walking easy” with FUSHU. Local personalities (Alexis Yap, Mikey Sanchez, Vanessa “V” Amman, to name a few) and new wondrously refulgent beauties walked current pairs and some new ones. Attendees were delighted with Bailey’s Caramel and Mint concoctions and buyers were treated to a 10% off on pre-orders.
Jandrick "Jumbo" Climaco’s style contribution to footwear has been a buzz AND now a wear for Cebuanos for the past half-year. We, Cebuanos are COMFORT-loving people. Ok, not just love but we LIVE it. Flip-flops, basic tees and jeans, easy to pull-on sweaters, and this? Totally a no-thinker to be an EVERYDAY staple.

FUSHU has no signs of slowing down. With almost a year under its belt, it has added a women’s line (finally answering to the demand-wall posts on their Facebook fan page) and more desirable designs: zebra-skin patterns, bright pastel retro floral prints, chic verticals, and interestingly, criss-cross lines eidetic of Narciso Rodriguez’s Spring-Summer 2009 collection (pictured below).
