Holidays On The Hop: CLARKS Men's Shoes

Planning for the holidays is both exciting and stressful - particularly if you're doing the bulk of the organization. But as with most things these days, planning is far easier and much more relaxed when done online, making organizing your holiday in this way a wise decision.

Flights are often cheaper online, and with plenty of flight comparison websites to choose from, you're sure to find the best deal for the type of getaway you have in mind. When searching online, remember to compare flights from different locations and times, and expand your search to include hotel and car hire maximum savings. Make sure your passports have at least six months left before they expire, and check the visa situation if travelling outside the EU - these things are best not left at the last minute!

Once your holiday is booked, you can start thinking about your outfits. Stock up on EASY-TO-PACK essentials like kaftans, sarongs and maxi dresses. If you plan to do a lot of sight seeing, a good pair of comfortable shoes or sandals is a must. You'll need some for your other significant half too - CLARKS men's shoes are good quality and comfortable, so should combat boots (and moaning!)

Have fun shopping for jewelry for your holiday and really go to town with some of this season's tribal range - think big wooden bracelets, gold hoops and feathers. All of these will look great with holiday gear, and can dress up a day outfit for the evening in seconds, if you're short on luggage space.

A large straw tote bag to carry all your beach essentials will make life easier once you arrive.  Don't forget your hat either, and make sure you pack a cardigan for your return journey to the UK - it's bound to be much colder than your holiday destination!

Needless to say, make sure you have plenty of sun screen so that you're safe and protected   while enjoying the hot weather. Don't be tempted to use leftovers either - sun scream loses its protectiveness over time, so buy a fresh supply every year and invest in some after-sun lotion to help rehydrate your skin. Store it in the fridge  or the mini-bar at your hotel for a refreshing, soothing treat , should you find yourself a little hot and bothered by all that summer sun.

The 411s on LIFEDANCE CEBU 2012!

The country's BIGGEST OUTDOOR PARTY is 2 days away!

Let the evolution begin
Come Saturday, May 26, LIFEDANCE will kick off with Afternoon Grind.
Gates open at 1pm, party starts at 2pm.

LIFEDANCE CEBU features British electronic dance music act CHICANE, known for the Ibiza anthem "Offshore", trance's one most well-known song "Saltwater" and the 1999 hit "Don't Give Up" featuring Bryan Adams (my love for house & trance was born this year)
to stir up the night with heartful yet the most powerful mixes as he take the decks
during the 15-hour spectacle.

Live performances by the country's finest acts, from DJ Juan Pablo (J Ave.),
Sonson (Hybrid), Boyet (Club PUMP, Alchology and the Penthouse), DJ Nina (Manila's hottest female DJ), Bong Durano (the Penthouse), X Factor, WAR of the Penthouse, Funk Avy and Martin Pulgar.

THE VENUE

LIFEDANCE CEBU will be set in a 14-hectare area of the 188-hectare Mandaue reclamation project, the Boardwalk Complex can't be missed. The property is located along Zuellig Avenue and is sitauted adjacent to S&R, Cebu Doctors' University and the Singapore School Cebu.

It is accessible from all directions with its towering structure visible from the Ouano Avenue. The venue goes along with ample parking complete, full security and away from the main street defying traffic build-up and all the hassle alike.

Channeling: CASINO TYRO GOING FOR BROKE

I'm inspired by WSOP last year's winner, Pius Heinz who won at least $8.7 million and garnered a
sponsorship from PokerStars.

If I'm gonna take a bigrisk and earn some money, I would go to a casino and play texas holdem 'til dawn.

Of course not everybody could bluff and try to achieve a poker face, so Iwill  google some poker strategy that I could use in order to win big.

I’m risking some things for a better gain.

I’m skipping afternoon coffee or very late lunches for yoga and some religious gym time. More “sporty” clothes in lieu of my mashed up summer wear to be in fitness form.

Who would not be inspired when you’re surrounded by guys who have been to the rodeo! The flexing, the biceps, the twink ones in the same drive as me: they are INSPIRATION, not competition. In fairness, this has helped me go home early and eat more
(yes, more than my already non-fattening appetite).

I haven't been ebullient in the weekend-party scene, except for the last beach parties - last Saturday’s Summer Hangover AND Beach Break, where I took in almost every kind of drink there was (I love Mango Liquer!). Overrested and pretty much beauty resting, I’m sleeping more and catching up with 2 Broke Girls and Desperate Housewives (finally halfway season 8). More more more!

Also huge fan of the series, Jad and JM, a couple close to my heart who are 2 the
best poker players I know, has helped me in life gambles; Wisdom and white cheats, replacing my cup of exasperations with determine-what-you-wants and get-over-this-and-that’s. Jad, being a very powerful Libran, is nonchalantly stern about this and Eden’s drunken rants during my elimination night in PRP3 are working! Avas lang sa Yasapboi LOL

Constricting my one hand to put things in balance, the priorities and more styling techniques. Fiercer hands on the other to take care of bigger fish to fry.

Our reunion for PROJECT RUNWAY PHILIPPINES is coming up and
I don’t want to be as stiff as a poker! I’m whisking my 11th hour magic again to have outfits ready for myself for these last moments on the runway – this should be memorable right?
I would want to conclude in style and more chic blurting out about my experience. I’m in the tug of war of prints and patterns, I’ve had headaches and WTH, why not combine them. Of course, an injection of JEJEMON CHIC perhaps?

The agita for reminiscing is just building up!
Enzo's BITCHESA moments, Jenno's mile-long intelligent inputs, Joseph's/Mama J's Meryl Streep soigne, Cheetah's avant-garde prowess, Amor's unapologetically funny TAGLISHisms and Glenn's explanations!!! ROFL!

See you back on the runway in weeks!

What You CAN Wear: LIFEDANCE Cebu 2012 (Co-Ed)

The first-ever LIFEDANCE CEBU is happening in about 10 days! This is the start of an evolution you want to celebrate with fellow Cebuanos and other partyphiles around the continent and the world, dance away like there’s no tomorrow. IOW: you CAN NOT miss this party!

We have dress-to-kill club nights and low-profile I-don’t-want-people-to-notice-me booze sessions, but this? You have to look EFFORTLESSLY PHENOMENAL – in the flesh and much more in the photos. This will be HISTORY in the making. You want to look back months from now, “Oh dude, that was in Lifedance…and you kissed me after this shot!” or “Bitch please, you danced with that s**t who slipped her neon bras?? WAU?” LOL.

You shouldn’t be stressed out in finding the “right” outfit to wear. Your LIFE and the MUSIC will be the center of attention. But the statements you would want to pull off will help define this revolutionary event - garments that are within your reach and style consciousness. The witness is Cebu City, where resorts are our weekend getaways and recreation is treated the same way Italians spend time on their meals.

Leave the hippie vibe to Glastonbury, rock-indie to Coachella and Euro-style to Tomorrowland. Let’s build our own LIFEDANCE look

This is what I coin as: RESORT RAVE:
a fashion orthodoxy that builds up from our laidback RESORT looks, injected with SPORTS references and jolts of DOWNTOWN-UPTOWN coolness.

Here are international runway looks that can serve as INSPIRATION or you can go the whole nine yards in interpreting these outfits
from head to toe!

Uber COLOR
  • If you decide to wear pants, have it in color – blue or red are your OK bets
  • Nod to the classics with a bright-colored buttoned shirt
  • Consider colors-of-the-moment TANGELO or SPEARMINT if you want to relish the revelry feel
  • Wear a bright, remarkably cool shirt. That way, you will be noticed immediately in the aftermath photos.
  • For girls, COLOR any small detail in your external anatomy: Lips, a small streak of colored liner, nails or even do something wacky with your lashes/eyebrows!

SHINE
  • Flourish in FLOURO: this season is your chance to wear NEON: via a basic T/tank top.
  • If you opt for dark colors (midnight blue, black, dark grey), choose a jacket in leather, WAXED texture or nylon, yes as in the raincoat material.
  • Friends will find you easily once the “drunken climax” begins.
  • Metallics. This is one surefire hit on the dancefloor! High-octane gilded or scaled ensembles worn by J.Lo in AI? Be in that wave but keep it low-key and less concert-y - no long sleeves and super body-con fits, just loose.
Mix and MISMATCH
  • MEWELRY: neon watches, braided bracelets or rubber bands. Pile them on or stack one color scheme. The varied the materials, the better!
  • CLASH prints: Stripes with tribal, zigzag with vintage prints, plaid with fruits, curlicues with carpet prints; the possibilities are endless! As long as they’re not in the same material (silk and silk will end up as pajama, which is apropos).
  • Twist that “resort” look by wearing trucker caps (with mesh backs) and BALL CAPS, instead of fedora hats
  • Go the extra mile by adding accessory elements that are OOTW: plastic chains, Lego, toy pendants, cute printed backpacks (for extra clothes) or crazy headgear.

Movement
  • Built-In Bling: A basic TOP that's EMBELLISHED with just about anything will be your surest bet to dance all throughout and still stay stylish! Good for photos, too, as I said.
  • Looking “sporty” is one way to strengthen your “rave” look. Consider ones that are assured of easy movement: racer-back tank tops, sports jackets or even track shorts (they come in uber brights this season).  Pair these with unpredictable pieces.
  • Keep the fits relaxed and loose. Drawstrings and gartered waists will be easy.
  • Trust your SNEAKERS or High-tops to let you dance all night long. If you wear heels (at the first few hours, your soles will get tired for sure), have a platform or thick heel, or better yet, a boot-wedge. Have back-up flats.
