"Mary Ty’s collection was like watching an act of self-referential sensual poetry. It’s a dynasty of her own, and to wholly appreciate it, one needs to know what has been recurring in her work: semi A-line shifts, uncompelled shapes and her increasingly recognizable printed frocks.

The cheongsam was the quasi inspiration. Shortened, as a chic cover-up and generously revealing skin, it nearly became like spa masseur get-ups if it had been inches longer and included frog snaps. But Ty edited beautifully. Print over plain. Accesory-heavy above the neck (charming earrings courtesy of SEPA by Diane Espera). Clean and mean down the knees.

She is big bucks when it comes to not only dressing the woman, but also channeling her inner toughness and cheerful nature to them via artsy prints and unusually favored color schemes."
